It's a foetal god Mercer and Gage are working to bring to life. With every kill they make in its name it gets closer to coming to life.[1]
Religion[]
The Beast That Stalks In The Long Grass does not yet exist. The siblings hope that when the Beast is born they will be eaten by it and become one with it.[2]
Prominent Followers[]
- Mercer is completely consumed by belief in her god. She is perhaps overly enthusiastic about it.
- Gage agrees to the creation of the god to appease their sister. They have have a lot of doubts about the project.
The Project[]
Mercer and Gage are god-hunters. As they hunt and kill more gods, they believe their god to be gaining in strength and that it will fully form after hunting and killing the Trawler-man.[3]
Abandonment[]
After Shrue calls off the attack on the Paraclete's Gulch, Gage kills Mercer and abandons the project.[4]
Notable Events[]
- Shrue hires the siblings to kill the Trawler-man in revenge for the events at Bellwether's.[1]
- The siblings view this as their chance to bring their god into being.[1]
- Gage ends the project by killing Mercer.[4]
